Artchester

Artchester was born in Russia, into a Russian-Ukrainian family, and left when the war began in 2022. He spent four years in Turkey, where he twice exhibited in Istanbul and where his home burned down. He then moved to Serbia and now lives in Belgrade.

He has been painting all his life. His work is biographical, built from memories and real situations — people caught in the middle of something, and the story behind them. Sometimes he sets the brush aside and makes monotypes directly from imprints of the body.
