Terms of Sale
Valid from 2 November 2026
1. Who we are
Spring Istanbul is an online atelier selling original artworks by independent artists. The seller is Bc. Alesya Borodina, a sole trader registered in the Czech Trade Register (OSVČ), ID number (IČO) 24610534, with her place of business at Záhřebská 41, 120 00 Praha 2, Czech Republic.
You can reach us at springistanbul4@gmail.com or through the contact form.
The seller is registered for VAT as an identified person and is not a VAT payer. No VAT is charged on the prices shown.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to every purchase made through this website. Most of our pieces are one-of-a-kind originals. Some artists also offer replicas of sold works, made on demand for the same price as the original; replicas are ordered through the contact form, and these terms apply to them too.
Every painting is made by hand. Colours on your screen may differ slightly from the real piece, and the texture, brushwork and small irregularities of the surface are part of the work, not defects.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds for visitors from the UK, in Czech crowns for visitors from the Czech Republic and in euros for everyone else. The price in the shop is final and includes delivery.
We accept payment by bank transfer. The payment details are shown as soon as you place your order. Please complete the payment within 3 days; if it does not arrive, we may cancel the order and offer the piece to other buyers.
4. Your order
You place an order by completing the checkout. Within one working day we check that the piece is still available, confirm your order by email and send you the invoice. The contract between us is concluded when we confirm your order.
Original artworks may also be shown at exhibitions, so on rare occasions a piece can be sold before your order reaches us. In that case we will let you know and refund any payment in full without delay.
5. Packaging and shipping
Each painting is packed with care to arrive safely — wrapped in protective material and shipped flat in a sturdy, double-walled box.
Orders are dispatched with tracking within 3 working days after the invoice is paid. We ship across the UK and EU, with the exception of Germany. The painting becomes yours, and is at your risk, once it has been delivered to you.
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply, for example when shipping to the UK.
6. Your right to return a painting
If you buy as a private person, you can withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason. To do so, tell us within those 14 days through the contact form (select «Report an issue with my order»), or by email at springistanbul4@gmail.com if the form isn't working for you. A short message is enough, for example: “I withdraw from my purchase of [artwork], ordered on [date] and received on [date]. [Your name and address].”
Please send the painting back within 14 days of telling us, in the same condition and packaging in which you received it, with tracking. Return shipping is at your expense; we recommend insuring the parcel for the value of the painting, as it travels at your risk until it reaches us.
We refund the full amount you paid, by bank transfer to the account the payment came from, within 14 days of your notice. We send the refund once the painting is back with us, or once you have sent us a tracking number that we can verify with the carrier, showing the parcel on its way to our address. If the painting comes back damaged or handled beyond what is needed to look at it, the refund will be reduced by the loss in value, up to the full price.
7. Exchanges
Prefer a different piece? Instead of a refund, you can exchange the painting for one of equal or different value within the same 14 days. If the new piece costs more, we will send an invoice for the difference; if it costs less, we will refund the difference.
8. Damage in transit and defects
Please unpack and inspect the painting as soon as it arrives. If it was damaged in transit, contact us within 48 hours with photos of the painting and the packaging, so that we can file a claim with the carrier quickly. We will then repair or replace the piece where possible, or refund it in full.
Your statutory rights for defects are not affected: under Czech law you can claim a defect that the painting had at the time of delivery and that appears within 24 months. Please tell us about a defect without undue delay after you discover it. We will first offer restoration or another fair solution; if the defect is substantial and cannot be put right, you are entitled to a discount or a full refund.
The guarantee does not cover damage caused after delivery — for example by improper handling, hanging or storage, direct sunlight, humidity, heat or cleaning — nor the natural ageing of artist materials.
9. Copyright
Buying a painting gives you ownership of the physical artwork. The copyright stays with the artist, who may continue to show images of the work, for example on this website, in a portfolio or in exhibition materials, and may make replicas of it.
10. Personal data
We use the name, address, email and phone number you give us only to process and deliver your order and to contact you about it. We share them only with the carrier and with our accountant as required by law, and we keep invoices for as long as Czech accounting law requires.
11. Complaints and disputes
If something goes wrong, please write to us first — we will do our best to put it right. These terms are governed by Czech law; if you live in another country, you keep the protection that the consumer law of your country gives you.
If we cannot agree, you can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), which handles out-of-court consumer disputes: adr.coi.cz.
